How To Buy & Sell

Register. Bid. Buy & Sell with Confidence.

At Commercial Vehicle Auctions, we aim to make the buying process as smooth and transparent as possible, whether you're bidding in person or online. Our auctions are open to trade, private, and export buyers, with clear steps for registration, deposits, and payment.

Registration Process

Before you can participate in any CVA auction, you must be registered.

First-time buyers will be asked to complete a simple bidder’s registration form.

Once registered, you’ll receive a bidder’s number and an auction catalogue, both unique to the specific sale.

Registration takes just a few minutes and enables full access to the auction floor or online platform.

Selling at CVA

Fast. Professional. Nationwide Reach.

CVA offers a straightforward, high-exposure route to market for your commercial vehicles, plant, trailers, and equipment. Our auctions are well-attended by both UK and export buyers, ensuring competitive bidding and quick turnaround.

Entry Form

To enter a vehicle or item into auction, a signed entry form is required. One form must be completed for each vehicle you wish to sell.

Reserve Price

You may set your own reserve price to protect your asset. If you're unsure, CVA can provide a free valuation and advise you on a realistic reserve in line with market demand.

Plant items can only be reserved if valued over £500.
Items under this threshold will be sold without reserve, unless otherwise agreed.
CVA reserves the right to amend this policy without notice.

Entry Fee

A £55 entry fee is payable for each vehicle entered. This fee includes:

Automatic re-entry into the next auction if your vehicle doesn't sell

A full HPI check for buyer assurance

If the vehicle remains unsold and is removed from the site, entry fees are still payable.

Commission Rates

Commission is only payable if your vehicle sells and is based on a percentage of the final sale price.

If the vehicle is withdrawn or unsold, a fee of £55 + VAT per auction applies

Commission and entry fees are deducted from the sale proceeds once the vehicle is sold
