BUYING

Registration
In order for you to buy at our auction, you must be registered. For first time buyers, you will be asked to complete a bidder’s registration form which only takes a few minutes to fill in, you will then be given a bidder’s number and catalogue which is unique to that sale.

Deposit - Truck & Trailer, Van & Car Auctions
A *debit or credit card deposit of £2,000 or 10% (whichever is greater) per lot and some form of photographic identification will be required upon registration

Export Buyers
A *debit or credit card deposit of £2,000 or 10% (whichever is greater) per lot and passport ID is required before the start of each auction.

Plant Auctions
A *debit or credit card deposit of £2,000 or 10% (whichever is greater) per lot and some form of photographic identification is required before the start of each auction.

Please note that the deposit is fully refundable if you do not purchase anything.

Settlement
The settlement value = ( Sale price plus *buyers premium plus VAT less any deposit taken ) and is payable by either:

Cash ***CVA do not accept cash payment***

Debit Card - Payment by card only accepted in person via chip and pin

Credit Card - Payment by card only accepted in person via chip and pin

Bank Transfer - (Please call for our bank details)

Online Payments - Payment can be made securely via your account page on the CVA website

Cheque - CVA do not accept payment by cheque

SELLING

Entry Form
A signed entry form needs to be completed for every vehicle entered into the auction.

Reserve Price
The seller sets the reserve price. When a vehicle is entered into the auction we can provide a free valuation and recommend an appropriate reserve price if required.

Note: Plant items can only be reserved if the value of the item is over £500. Items under this value will be sold without reserve*

Entry Fee
An entry fee of £55 is payable. If your vehicle does not sell it will be automatically entered into the next auction. If your vehicle subsequently sells, the entry fee and commission are deducted from the sale proceeds. If your vehicle does not sell entry fees are payable before the vehicle can be removed from site. The entry fee also covers an HPI check on each vehicle entered.

Commission Rates
Commission is only payable if the vehicle sells. It is based on a percentage of the sale price and is deducted from the sale proceeds. An entry fee of £55 + vat per auction will be required for withdrawn / unsold vehicles.
